A taxi driver in the UK has been hailed a hero after keeping a passenger locked inside his taxi in the moments before the male passenger detonated a home-made bomb outside a maternity hospital in Liverpool.

Eight deaths in a crowd surge at a festival in the U.S. and a knife attack on a train in Germany has highlighted the importance and need for easily accessible medical supplies to be readily available for bystanders to use in public places.

This is because bystanders or zero responders will always be the first person on the scene of an accident or incident. That could be any one of us; whether it’s waiting at a bus stop, doing our weekly grocery shop, or attending a concert. No matter how fast the emergency services arrive, it’s the bystander who becomes the first responder.
